A guild of wild beasts and, most notably, those who tame them. Its public face is an organization that performs biological experiments on Transients.
—Affiliation Description

The Beast Tamers, known in full as the Ueno Beast Tamers, is a guild located in Ueno, Taito Ward.

Their Guild Master is Yuma.

Overview

The Beast Tamers' goal is to find a way to control others' powers,[1] namely the Role and Rule of a currently unknown individual in order to save humanity.[2]16 In order to accomplish this, their members conduct many experiments to research the nature of the App and its functions. The researchers are heavily dedicated to their work, making sure to commit the data and results of their findings to memory so they can destroy and abandon their research if need be. This also makes the researchers a valuable commodity of information, so they take on bodyguards to protect them.

In addition to his research, Pazuzu acts as the guild's public negotiator between other parties.[3] Due to the nature of Hastur's abilities, he is both a valuable protector for the guild's experiment subjects and a security risk to the guild itself, so he alongside his tamer Pazuzu work separately from the rest.[4]

All members of the Beast Tamers except for one are Therians.[5]

After the events of Chapter 8, the Beast Tamers and Outlaws have formed an alliance.[6]5

Their guild icon is a berserk spike-collared dog breaking out of its cage.

Beasts and Tamers

In order to protect the guild's research and findings, researchers are paired up with bodyguards. In return, the researchers are able to protect the world from them as well. These bodyguards, 'beasts', have abilities that are deemed too dangerous to have running around unchecked. In order to rein them in and prevent any collateral damage from their powers, the guild has a rule set where they must be paired with researchers, 'tamers', whose abilities act as natural counters. Together, they work as a single unit that performs their duties and maintains good affinity with each other.[5]

Beast Ability Tamer Ability
Cu Sith Has a howl that is deadly to anyone who hears it three times. Leib Can redirect death and injury to another living being, such as other people or trees.
Fenrir Grows in size and gets overcome with bloodlust if his binds come loose. Jambavan Gains strength proportionally even to an opponent that is deemed evil or world-ending.
Hastur A walking biohazard; can manipulate ill winds, poisons, desiccating insects, and corrupt minds. Pazuzu Has a warding talisman that can deflect wind, poisons, pestilence, and droughts.
Alp Relies on eating dreams as sustenance, turning the dreamer's nights into nightmares. ??? ???
