Overview

Bringing an unusual archetype for his element and a polarized “offensive” and non-offensive playstyle, Takemaru is a specific yet effective form of support that primarily wants to boost the damage of an ally in front of him, this is pushed to the extreme with 5☆, where he trades off any possible offense in exchange of extremely boosting said frontline ally’s damage to very scary extents with Limit on top of his other buffs, which might allow for some broken interactions. That said, his other great quality is automatic Skill Seal whenever hit, though this also means most of his strong effects need him to be hit and Shadow units have naturally the worst endurance, making it a rough trade without defensive buff assistance. Still, be it considerable damage potential from him or unprecedented damage potential for an ally of your choice, Takemaru will provide full force.

Class: Offensive Support

Gameplay role:

Pros

+ The combination of Attack Up and Ardor as well as Limit if 5☆ allows the affected ally to reach a very intimidating damage potential, capable of applying to nearly any unit with great ease, the first buff also applying to anyone else as well.

+ Has many namely ways to reach his fantastic Charge quite fast, it being fantastic for allowing constant near-absolute damage mitigation for him and his allies, something he really wants due to his element.

+ Despite his unimpressive ATK stat, his element along with Concentration and Berserk make for formidable damage potential as 3☆.

+ Gains much-needed Guts and immediately cripples any aggressor through Skill Seal as 5☆

Cons

- Despite what his element and self-buffs may imply, he’s ultimately far from an offensive unit, his 5☆ has no offensive presence whatsoever in favor of mesmerizingly boosting his frontliner.

- His element along with lack of any defensive buffs paired with some skills needing him to be hit can prove rather difficult to fully approach his skillset.
