Overview

Adapted with permission from Kiraidi's Tier List

Off the bat, knowing Triton has things like Purge, Status Mirror, Fervor and a great Charge should be enough to make him a strong, competent unit and leave it at that, but half of said aspects gate him towards a specific, variably effective and narrow role, being an ailment reflector with some bonuses on the sides. Purge is nice when there’s enemy buffs at play and his Charge is certainly great on large maps, it still adds to his sheer situationality, but remain somewhat strong aspects nonetheless. LB3 would be great had it not been gated to such low proc rate and proc method, making it a huge gamble with debatable payoff. Don’t underestimate him nonetheless, Triton is a very powerful unit in the specific situations his skills are aimed towards, even if they’re few and far between.

Highlights

Class: Defensive Support

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ Fairly unique Purge effect from Default, buff-removal on hit is something most characters have only on Charge skills, and very few besides himself in this manner.

+ LB1 can be fantastic for reflecting obnoxious ailments back at their sources and protecting your party from them.

+ LB3 is great if it procs, with a nice damage buff, heal and CP all in one.

+ A great Charge with unlimited effective range that can help setting your party up.

Cons

- 3☆ has a largely useless LB2.

- LB1 is a hit or miss, it can only defend against 1 ailment per turn so it can be used up even with the most underwhelming ailments.

- LB3 takes getting hit, with his standard survivability and low proc rate it’s debatable how well will it be approached.
