Chapter 4: Missionaries -Dogma City, Aoyama- is the fourth accessible Chapter of the Main Quest, set between the Shinjuku and Shibuya Wards. It consists of six scenarios, most of which have multiple parts.
In this Chapter, the Protagonist, while visiting the Missionaries guild to discuss stabilizing their new guild, gets caught up in a fiasco involving deceit, a missing guild member, and a pop star's obsessive stalker.
Not long after the debacle at the Berserkers base, Lil' Salomon abruptly wakes up the Protagonist, informing them they intend to keep track of what his master does now that he's in charge of a guild. After Mononobe checks in on them and classes let out, Shiro sets up a meeting for the guild. After he fills the two in on what he learned about guilds, he says he intends to find out about the power of the The App by contacting the Game Masters, the mysterious figures that control how the App works and formed their guild out of necessity as he didn't know any Guild Master who was willing to do it for him. However, he found out that this is impossible at present as, without having the accepted number of people in their ranks and a public area to serve as the guild's Portal, they're stuck in temporary status. While he works things out with Andvari in order to secure a Portal site, Shiro reveals he invited Ryota as their newest member. Ryota explains he's had a Chalice Sacred Artifact for a while but, as he never knew how to activate it, had to ask a friend outside the school for help on how to use it. This works out for Shiro and the others as the person in question is the acting Guild Master for a guild in Aoyama, and they all agree to head out together to get whatever information they can.
Upon arriving at the area where they were to meet Ryota's contact, Kengo immediately becomes annoyed as they're standing on the grounds of Daikanyama Academy, a fact Shiro claimed was illegal to be used as a Portal, though Shiro checked around and found out that the Academy is listed as a college, and as such, is considered acceptable as a Portal. However, they are immediately accosted by angels associated with the guild who claim that the group is 'in contempt of [their] commandments'. This causes Kengo to blow a gasket, dragging the group into a fight.
As the battle heats up, Ryota attempts to use his Sacred Artifact to help the others. However, as he still has no idea how to use it, his ploy winds up being nothing more than a badly times bluff. Fortunately, the fighting is stopped by the leader of the angels, Zabaniyya, and the acting Guild Master of the Missionaries, Maria. Maria apologizes to the group for not informing the angels that she was expecting guests ahead of time before starting a tour of the church that adjoins the Academy grounds and smoothing over the lingering hostility between Kengo and the angels. As Ryota and Shiro as their respective questions, Kengo, despite Shiro's protestations, instigates a 'sparring match' with Zabaniyya in an attempt to see how strong he is.
Despite the number of blows dealt by Kengo, Zabaniyya doesn't counter them or show interest in the match, claiming he only puts in the effort against people he feels deserve it. After Shiro stops Kengo from doing anything stupid, the group is approached by Azazel, a clergyman in charge of the Missionaries' charity work, who informs Maria of an incident starting to take place at a park and asks the Protagonist's group to go with her to see how their guild functions.
As the group heads to the park in question, Kengo is still visibly upset with Zabaniyya's unwillingness to fight. Azazel calms him down and explains that Zabaniyya was his world's torturer, but, despite being good at it, became disillusioned about the direction his life was going. He also mentions that the Missionaries are the largest guild in Tokyo due to their desire to help those struggling through life.
Upon arriving at the park, Maria leads them to an area where where the Missionaries distribute food to the poor. She explains that this practice was started due to the sheer number of Transients that didn't have the resources necessary to adapt to living in Tokyo. Their conversation is soon interrupted by Choji, a member of Shinjuku Academy's cooking club who works part time as the Missionaries' chef. After introductions are passed around, Choji directs the group to the source of the incident Azazel mentioned: a group of Transients fighting over how much food they'll get. Despite Maria's insistence of handling the problem herself, the Protagonist's group dives in to help her deal with it.
