A second year student and classmate of the hero, Kengo is a prideful martial artist who lives by the fist. He's been friends with Shirou since they were very young, but lately their relationship has grown contentious due to Kengo frequently skipping school altogether to fight in the Ikebukuro Berserker's underground tournaments. Kengo is a hobbyist mountaineer, as he finds the mountain wilderness the best place to hone his skills, and gets along well with fellow mountain lovers.
The belt he wears wrapped around his fist confers the divine power of a certain wild man from another world. He prefers to speak with his fists, since he's spectacularly terrible at logically arguing his case. In particular, against a certain nagging childhood friend.
