☆3/☆4 Jiraiya

Jiraiya’s a charming but also simple unit, a ninja who relies on Evasion to be truly durable, this paired with his Default encourages him to be moved around constantly, LB2 adds great damage momentum and helps solidifying his damage. LB3 is rather situational, CP Down isn’t the greatest thing and it rarely has any noticeable effect. His Charge is great, Accel is a nice CP increase per turn that rapidly accumulates with other similar effects, helping others reach their Charge at a steadier pace. Be mindful of his Grass weakness, if he has no Evasion up, he goes from being extremely tanky to hardly durable. Overall sufficiently good while still requiring backup to shine.

☆4 Summer Jiraiya

Unknown icon.pngJiraiya, like most other Summer versions you'll find, has the huge double-edge sword of applying Fervor to allies and aggressor, which is stated to potentially screw up your runs depending on what enemy gets it. His LB1 complements his attack range and role well, culminating in a bigger one through Charge. If properly applied, his Default+LB3 will make a dramatic boost to his allies and same goes for LB2+LB3 for himself, allowingfor a highly offensive frontline composition and getting them on par with his great damage just by hitting things. Just watch who Jiraiya is gonna get hit with and mind his positioning, he craves for it in order to be effective. Please consider that LB3 requires him to be party leader in order to fully approach it, given Crit’s nature as a buff only lasting for the moment its applied.

☆3/☆4 Jiraiya

Class: Bruiser, Healer

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ A good Default with high proc rate, good proc method and nice range, with Blessing being a good passive heal buff.

+ Great LB1 Evasion that can make him incredibly sturdy.

+ LB2 bolsters his damage very well, which also applies to his Charge and easily adds up with more-common buffs.

+ His Charge can boast of great damage thanks to LB2 and has a non-scaling effect (Acceleration), which helps sharing some CP around.

Cons

- LB1 has a fairly low proc rate and a proc method that demands a coveted aspect, without it his durability is subpar.

- LB3 is generally not great, its effects will be generally invisible despite its sheer power for it.

- Traditional Grass weakness with only LB1 to get around it, with its aforementioned disadvantages.

☆4 Summer Jiraiya

Class: Glass Cannon, Offensive Support

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ Default allows him to share a nice offensive+CP buff for his allies.

+ LB1 serves its purpose well as progressive healing and CP that can quickly stack with proper positioning and is solidly helped by his attack range.

+ LB3 Critical to his horizontal allies and him ensures a dramatic boost in damage that nearly everyone (that lacks it) approaches, it paired with his LB2 makes his damage ridiculous. Consider him as leader in order to approach Crit given its short-lived nature.

+ Charge can benefit from LB2 and offers a considerable heal for him and his allies.

Cons

- Default is known for also giving it to his aggressors, which can turn the battle against you very easily depending on who gets it.

- Requires good positioning given his skills are adjacent-ranged, with LB3 requiring other frontliners in order to approach it.

- To the above point, using frontline units or putting any unit in the front with him will be highly preferred, limiting party composition slightly.
